Scholar Athlete: Robert Ford, Southwest

SAN ANTONIOWhat are you most excited about for your senior year and why?
I am most excited for all the festivities that come with the senior year; prom, homecoming, theme weeks, graduation and all the subsequent parties. I am also excited to play another year of baseball and have fun with my lifelong friends.

What drives you to be successful in the classroom and in your particular sport?
Thinking about my future motivates me to be successful in school and on the field because I know what I do now will have an immense impact on the rest of my life.

How do you balance homework, participation in sports and spending time with family and friends?
I balance my entire life by putting school work first because without that you really cannot do anything else, then devoting time and effort towards my sport, and finally spending time with family and friends. I treat spending time with friends as a personal reward so that I have increased motivation to complete the first two tasks.

How do you want to be remembered at school once you graduate?
When I graduate, I would like to be remembered as a hardworking individual who earned his success on the field and in the classroom and managed it well enough to make a living off of what he loves.

Where do you want to attend college, major in and why?
I would like to attend the University of Texas at Austin to major in sports management.

If you could have one superhero power, what would it be and why?
If I could have one superpower it would be to control time. I would choose this because it allows me to time travel, freeze time, slow it down, and even speed it up. That essentially combines the
powers of teleportation, super speed, and time travel all into one power.

If you could take any athlete or celebrity to your senior prom, who would it be and why?
If I could take any athlete to senior prom I would take Aly Raisman because she is young enough that it wouldn't be awkward for her to be there, she is extremely beautiful, and I would love to find out what it is like to be an Olympic athlete.
