Aldridge leads Spurs' barrage against Clippers, 120-107

SAN ANTONIO – It looked like a classic San Antonio Spurs-LA Clippers matchup before the Spurs blew it open in the third quarter and went on to win their third straight, beating the Clippers 120-107.

"We set the tone well as far as moving the ball and we found our shooters that were open," said Pau Gasol, who scored a season high 19 points.

The key to the win was the third quarter. The Clippers were up three at the half 55-52. The Spurs took control in the third outscoring the Clippers 40-21.

The game was tied at 61 until LaMarcus Aldridge hit a 12 foot jumper to give the Spurs the lead 63-61 with 7:49 left.

After a Clippers turnover and a Patrick Beverly missed three pointer, Danny Green hit a three.

Green finished with a season high in points 24. He had 4 of the Spurs 15 three pointers.

After a Austin Rivers 15 footer, Kyle Anderson hit a reverse layup, follow that up with a Rudy Gay three and in 9 seconds the Spurs pushed the lead to 8.

Rudy Gay also hit four three pointers and tied his season high of 22 points off the bench.

"We came out in the third quarter with a much better mindset defensively and that always is going to be a big factor and a key," Gasol said.

The Spurs were able to outscore the Clippers 40-21 in the third.

"Guys locking in you know, coming in at halftime kind of looking at the things that we weren't doing well and just try and go out just do them better," said Aldridge who lead the team with 25 points.

The Spurs kept control the rest of the way. Gasol had 3 three's on four attempts.

The Spurs also had a season high 15 three's and shot 53 percent thanks to that ball movement t that resulted in a season  high 33 assists.

"I thought the ball kept moving, they are very athletic and active team so just trying to get them more from side to side and find the open guy," Aldridge said.

The Spurs will look for their fourth win in a row Friday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks.
