SAN ANTONIO – Former San Antonio Spurs forward Boris Diaw announced his retirement from basketball on Thursday by posting a video to his personal Twitter account.
In the video, the France native tells his former Spurs teammate Tony Parker and former Los Angeles Lakers center Ronny Turiaf in french that he's done with basketball while aboard a boat.

Diaw, 36, last played in the NBA during the 2016-2017 season as a member of the Utah Jazz. He played with the Levallois Metropolitans overseas last year.
Diaw won an NBA title with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. He averaged 9.2 points and and 4.8 rebounds during that postseason.
Selected as the 21st overall draft pick in the 2003 NBA draft, Diaw was named the NBA's Most Improved Player during the 2005-06 season after averaging 13.3 points and 6.9 rebounds for Phoenix.
Diaw has career averages of 8.6 points and 4.4 rebounds during his 14 seasons in the NBA. He also played for the Charlotte Bobcats in addition to the Spurs, Suns and Jazz.
