Local Spurs fan impresses Michael Jordan while wearing Leonard jersey at youth camp

SA boy wins contest at Jordan's ‘Flight School' youth camp in California

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs may be less than three months away from training camp, but the team might want to consider adding one more to the roster as one local boy is making his case with six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan backing him up.

In a video shared on Twitter Sunday with a user tagging @ksatnews, 10-year-old Logan Gonzalez, of San Antonio, is seen with five-time NBA MVP Jordan getting prepared for a game of "Around the World."

Logan’s mom, Heather Gonzalez, said Jordan picked her son during his “Michael Jordan Flight School” youth camp for a chance to win a pair of Jordan shoes not only for himself, but also for his 12 teammates.

Gonzalez said the object of the game was to go around the basket in 10 spots with her son only allowed to miss once in each spot.

If you missed twice in one spot, Gonzalez said the shooter is out.

Luckily for Gonzalez’s son Logan, he decided to wear his silver and black cape, better known as a Kawhi Leonard jersey, and showed up in the clutch right front of hundreds of other parents and kids including Mr. Jumpman himself.

Out of the 10 spots, Logan missed three shots missing once in each spot, but it was his last attempt that will define him as a rising star.

In the video, Logan is seen at the final spot missing at the free-throw, but much like his idol Leonard, he was not fazed by the pressure hitting the game-winning basket and securing a pair of Jordan shoes for him and his teammates.

Gonzalez said this is her son’s first time attending Jordan’s youth camp in Santa Barbara, California, and traveled the 1,450 miles in hopes of meeting Spurs star Leonard as he has made an appearance at previous camps.

Now known as the “Kawhi kid” at camp, it’s safe to say Logan Gonzalez might be on the Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich's radar as the next superstar in the making.
