SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs will begin a three game Western Conference road trip by facing the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night.

The tip-off between San Antonio and Portland is 9 p.m. and the game will be shown on Fox Sports Southwest.

The Spurs most recently defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 109-91 on Monday night. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 19 points and had eight rebounds to lead the team in what was All-Star Kawhi Leonard's home debut this season. Los Angeles however was without five players, including leading scorers Blake Griffin and Lou Williams.

Point guard Tony Parker scored 16 points and had seven assists in 23 minutes in his second-longest stint after missing the first 19 games while recovering from a left quadriceps injury. Kawhi Leonard did not play in the second half and scored just seven points in his 16 minutes -- ending a streak of 110 straight games in double figures.

Spurs forward Kyle Anderson, who himself has missed the last eight games, is expected to travel with the team on the three-game road trip, team officials announced.

Meanwhile the Portland Trail Blazers (16-14) are coming off a gut-wrenching 108-107 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night. The team had won its previous three games prior to the loss and are currently on a three-point shooting terror  -- posting six games in the last eight with double-digit makes from long range.

The Blazers possess one of the league's highest scoring starting backcourts with Damian Lillard averaging 25.5 points per game and C.J. McCollum averaging 21.3 points per game.

Portland has seen major improvement in the win column following their acquisition of seven-foot center Jusuf Nurkic, who last season was traded by the Denver Nuggets.

Nurkic scored 20 points while adding seven rebounds, three blocks and an assist in 28 minutes in the close loss to the Timberwolves. It was the big man's best performance since he returned to the lineup following an ankle injury just three games ago.

Wednesday's meeting will be another homecoming for Spurs' veteran forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who played his first nine seasons in the Pacific Northwest. It will also be the first game between the two teams this year before playing on Jan. 7 and again on April 7.
