Cancer-stricken SAPD officer gets wish to see NFL game

Officer Mark Bjugstad battling lung cancer

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – Last month members of the San Antonio Police Department presented a special gift to a 20-year veteran of the department who is battling cancer. Officer Mark Bjugstad was presented with a paid trip to see the Green Bay Packers play in Wisconsin.

This weekend Bjugstad went to the Badger State to see the Packers take on the Indianapolis Colts.

He attended the game and held a sign that read “Thank you San Antonio Police Department. For making my dream come true.”

Bjugstad has been battling lung cancer for the past five years. He is now at stage 4.

Officers said they rallied together because they wanted to do something special for him.

Unfortunately, the Packers could not pull out a victory. The team fell to the Colts 31-26.
