VITA volunteers will answer questions related to filing tax returns. The number to call is 210-351-1363.

During the 2014-2015 tax filing season, volunteers operated 22 sites throughout the city and helped complete more than 34,000 tax returns. More than $72 million in refunds was returned to local taxpayers.

This year, the IRS provided a grant to help fund the program and increased VITA's goal to 36,000 returns.

VITA volunteers provide the same services a paid tax preparer provides. The services are free to anyone who earns up to $60,000 per year.

VITA San Antonio is a collaboration of public and private entities dedicated to family and individual financial self-sufficiency. The goal of VITA is to increase the financial stability of working individuals and families in San Antonio and Bexar County.
