Steve Garagiola

Steve has worked at Local 4 since 1995. He started in sports, and covered the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. When the bomb went off in Centennial Park, Steve became a news reporter, and made the official switch to news when he got back home.

He was born in St. Louis, grew up in New York, but has lived in Metro Detroit most of his life. Steve's dad is Joe Garagiola who you may remember as a fixture on NBC for many years (Today Show and Baseball Game of the Week). His mom is not so well known, but she did play the organ at Busch Stadium for the Cardinals, which he says is pretty cool.

Steve loves to write and cook. He has an e-book about writing and his life in TV news, a novel and a cookbook. He loves the piano and guitar and says he plays both well enough to entertain himself, but would not make anyone else endure that.
