Brackenridge Park Conservancy names new CEO
The Brackenridge Park Conservancy has recruited a new CEO, Talli Dolge, who will lead the organizationโs ongoing pursuit of key improvements for some of San Antonioโs more significant midtown assets, including a $62 million plan unveiled more than a year ago to restore and expand Sunken Garden Theater.
Itโs vital to talk about mental health. KSAT invites you to a town hall with local experts on May 26 at 7 p.m.
During the town hall, we will explore the impacts of mental health and wellness this year and beyond. Weโll also be answering mental health and wellness questions that you can submit ahead of time.
San Antonio mental health advocate praises Meghan Markle for admitting her suicidal thoughts
SAN ANTONIO โ By describing how she was largely unable to leave her royal surroundings in her time of crisis, a local mental health advocate said Meghan Markle described what many others are experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic. But hearing Markle speak openly about her own struggles could be beneficial to others, Dolge said. Thereโs so much shame when people feel alone in their own mental illness,โ Dolge said. Dolge urges if someone is having suicidal thoughts, there is a 24-hour National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255, and a long list of resources in Bexar County. The South Texas chapter of the National Foundation for Suicide Prevention that is deeply involved in the studying the issue, also increase awareness about suicide and its warning signs.

Millions of people in the U.S. are affected by mental illness each year. One in five U.S. adults experience mental illness, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). To help the San Antonio community during this difficult time, KSAT Community hosted a virtual mental health town hall on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. with three panelists answering commonly asked questions over mental health.
