The latest Bexar Facts-KSAT-San Antonio Report poll shows approval ratings for Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, and the San Antonio City Council are slowly declining, though all three continue to poll higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic among Bexar County voters. The San Antonio City Councilโs approval rating saw a steeper decline, from 55 percent approval in June to 49 percent in September. Bexar Facts polling, Sept. 17-21 (Bexar Facts)Public support for the local government officials remains higher than for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who, in the same Bexar Facts poll this month, saw his disapproval rating nearly double.
Burn ban in effect for Bexar County due to dry conditions
SAN ANTONIO โ A burn ban has been put into effect for the unincorporated areas of Bexar County until Oct. 15. The Bexar County Commissioners Court on Thursday approved the ban as the area continues to see dry conditions amid sweltering heat. According to a news release from the Commissioners Court, the Keetch-Byram Drought Index shows Bexar County has an index of 566, increasing from 398.24 since June 30. With low aquifer levels, SAWS has also implemented Stage 1 water restrictions for its customers.
