SAN ANTONIO โ Last week, we had another great Kaitiโs Science Lab experiment, and this one may have been a fan favorite. The cool demonstration teaches kids about the phases of the moon by using cookies to display varying amounts of creme filling. You can actually eat the experiment when youโre done. KSAT anchor Stephanie Sernaโs daughter, Rooney, tried out the edible learning experience herself as she was already learning about it in school. Turns out, Rooney had a blast โ both learning and eating.

KSAT12 announces new traffic anchor for Good Morning San Antonio
KSAT12โฒs VP/GM Phil Lane and News Director Bernice Kearney have announced that Samuel King will be joining Stephanie Serna, Mark Austin and Mike Osterhage on the weekday editions of โGood Morning San Antonioโ effective December 2, 2020. 1 morning show in South Texas, heโll also handle the transportation beat and cover stories on San Antonio and Bexar Countyโs growth-driven traffic problems, as well as VIAโs new referendum that voters approved in November. GMSA Traffic officers Marcus Trujillo and Nick Soliz will be leaving us to focus on their SAPD careers and to spend more time with their families. We look forward to continuing our tradition of being the place where viewers can Expect More in the morning and all day long.โโGood Morning San Antonioโ airs Monday - Friday from 4:30 a.m. -7 a.m., followed by โGood Morning Americaโ from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m., and โGMSA @9โ rounds out the morning news. Good Morning San Antonio Anchor Stephanie Sernaโs daughter, Rooney, made an altar for her grandfather this year as a school project. (KSAT)Rooney said your loved ones still think about you every day, and you should never forget about them. โItโs important because they might be happy, like not just happy, but super happy,โ Rooney said. โThey might think of you every day.โWhether itโs big or small, making an altar for a loved one whoโs passed is a great way to remember them.

The educational coloring and activity book was created with elementary students in mind by the Texas Commercial Airports Association and is free to download by clicking here. KSAT Kids can color one of the two San Antonio pictures and submit to our gallery by clicking here. KSAT will show off some of the submissions during the GMSA@9 newscast.

And although many students were are already introduced to virtual learning back in March, its still different starting school this way -- for many with a new teacher and a new classroom. Serna will join Mark Austin, Meteorologist Mike Osterhage and officers Marcus Trujillo and Nick Soliz effective immediately.
