Driver killed in car crash identified

Mike Serna, 24, died Sunday after collision with tree

The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified the man killed in a vehicle collision with a tree on Sunday as 24-year-old Mike Serna.

Police said Serna was driving on East Southcross Boulevard near Goliad Road on the city's Southeast Side when he lost control, slamming into the tree.

Serna died at the scene.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused Serna to crash his vehicle.

A man is dead after he lost control of his car early Sunday morning and slammed into a tree,

It happened on the Southwest Side around 1:30 a.m. According to police, the driver was headed down Southcross Boulevard when he hit a curb and slammed into a tree.

The Fire Department had to cut the man out of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
