SAN ANTONIO – An overturned 18-wheeler has closed the eastbound Loop 410 access road near South Presa Street early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said.
The accident occurred just after 2 a.m. on the city's South Side.
Police said the 18-wheeler was traveling east on the access road when high winds and rain started making the driver lose control. The 18-wheeler then went down an embankment and overturned onto its side.
Hazmat units are presently working at the scene due to hazardous material inside the trailer.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to Mission Trail Baptist Hospital as a precaution.
The access road is presently closed.
