Driver arrested following hit-and-run accident

Victim was taken to hospital with broken leg

SAN ANTONIO – A driver is being charged after he hit a man crossing the street and then drove off, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Frio Street and Guadalupe Street, just west of downtown.

Police said the driver hit a man walking in a crosswalk and then simply drove off.

A police officer witnessed the event and caught up with the driver and brought him back to the scene.

The driver has been charged with failure to stop and render aid.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a broken leg.
