SAN ANTONIO – A woman is dead following an overnight accident on the city's North Side, San Antonio police said Wednesday.
The accident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Avenue, found not far from Nassau Drive.
Police said the woman was weaving in and out of traffic on West Avenue when she lost control, over-corrected, and jumped the curb hitting a cement light pole.
The woman was taken to University Hospital where she later died.
Police said both drinking and speed were likely factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
