High water causes traffic issues across SA

Driver became stuck trying to drive on access road near I-35 and Binz-Engleman

SAN ANTONIO – Heavy rain Monday morning caused at least one driver to get stuck at a high water crossing on a local access road.

The incident occurred on the Interstate 35 northbound access road before Benz-Engleman road in the Salado Creek area.

San Antonio police tell KSAT 12 that the driver became stuck and needed assistance to move her vehicle.

The officer at the scene said the water gage showed the water to be six inches but the water appeared to be much deeper than that. 

Police said the driver is out of the car and made it to work.
