Motorcycle crash causes chain reaction on East Side

Rider was taken to hospital with a back injury

SAN ANTONIO – A man is recovering after crashing his motorcycle into a truck causing a chain reaction crash, San Antonio police said Monday.

The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 10 at South Pine, found not far from South Hackberry Street on the city's East Side.

Police said the motorcycle rider crashed into the truck hurting his back, before another driver in a pickup slammed into the motorcycle. Two more vehicles then rear-ended that second pickup truck, police said.

The motorcyclist was the only person injured, and was taken to the hospital.

No tickets were given out as a result of the crash, police said.
