City extends ridesharing agreements until Oct. 31

Leaders plan to create long-term solution over the summer

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio City Council on Thursday voted to align the end dates of temporary deals struck with the transportation networking companies Uber, Lyft and Get Me.

Since agreements between the companies and the city were reached at varying times, the deals were set to expire in July, September and October.

City Council members agreed to adjust each agreement so that they all end Oct. 31.

The San Antonio Police Department, the city attorney's office and local industry officials plan to formulate a long-term solution over the summer.
