SAN ANTONIO – A man is in critical condition after he fell off a bicycle and was run over by a car overnight, San Antonio police said Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near the intersection of South Flores Street and Ware Street, found near Roosevelt Avenue on the city's South Side.
Police said the bicyclist was drunk at the time he fell off his bike. That's when, police said, an oncoming car hit the man as he was on the ground.
The man was taken to University Hospital for his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle did stop to render aid and will not be facing charges, police said.
