Man hit by 2 vehicles, killed while directing traffic around crash scene

Accident occurred near intersection of Wurzbach Pkwy, Thousand Oaks

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after being hit by two vehicles while trying to direct traffic around crash scene, San Antonio police said Thursday.

The accident happened just before midnight Wednesday near the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks on the city's North Side.

According to police, people were standing outside their cars following an accident trying to help direct traffic around debris when one was hit by a passing vehicle.

The man was thrown to the ground and then run over by a second vehicle, police said.

Police said the driver of the first vehicle fled the scene, but the second driver stopped to help.

The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center with a skull fracture where he later died.

The name of the victim has yet to be released.

There is no word if anyone is facing charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
