Woman taken to hospital after being hit by truck, police say

Accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Fredericksburg Rd near Babcock Rd

SAN ANTONIO – A woman is in the hospital Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle on the city's Northwest Side.

The accident was reported around 6:15 a.m. on Fredericksburg Road near Babcock Road. 

According to police, the woman was not in the crosswalk when she was hit by the pick-up truck. 

Police said the woman suffered a head injury and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance. Police said despite the injury the woman was alert and responsive.

At this time it is not known why the driver hit her, but the time of day may have played a factor, police said.
