SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist is in critical condition after an overnight crash, San Antonio police said Thursday.
The accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on Northeast Loop 410 near the Interstate 35 southbound exit.
Police said the rider lost control and crashed into a grassy median barely missing a sign, but was thrown roughly 60 yards into a telephone pole.
The bike was smashed into seven pieces, police said.
The victim, a 24-year-old man, was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for his injuries.
Police said speed may have played a factor in the crash.
