Northeast Side chase ends with crash

3 suspects sought

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County deputies have yet to locate the driver, who they say led them on a chase through the Northeast Side.

Deputies are also searching for the two passengers, who left the scene of the crash that ended the chase.

Deputies tried stopping the driver of a silver pickup truck driving erratically on Gibbs Sprawl Road.

The driver continued driving down Walzem Road, reaching speeds of more that 70 mph, said deputies.

The chase continued down Interstate 35 to Eisenhower Road then to Austin Highway, deputies said.

According to deputies, in the 400 block on Vandiver the driver jumped a curb, went up a small embankment and crashed into a tree.

Three people got out of the truck and ran away from the scene.

The Department of Public Safety helicopter and San Antonio police K-9 units were called in to assist in the search.

So far, no of the suspects have been found.
