Officials at the scene said the teenage girl was heading east on the two-way access road of I-10 near Foster Road when she crossed into the path of a concrete mixing truck headed in the opposite direction. That's when, authorities said, the two vehicles hit almost head on.

Authorities said the girl, who was about 16-years-old was killed, and the truck driver was shaken up by the incident but not seriously hurt.

The access road will be shut down for about an hour, officials said.

The investigation into the crash is on-going.
