Police: Motorcyclist injured in crash on I-35

Accident occurred just before 10 p.m. Sunday

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist is recovering at an area hospital after crashing on Interstate 35 overnight, San Antonio police said Monday.

The accident happened just before 10 p.m. Sunday on the upper level of Interstate 35 North by Laredo Street.

Police said a black car was changing lanes as the motorcyclist attempted to pass him on the right. That's when, police said, the motorcycle clipped the back end of the car and the rider then lost control.

The motorcyclist fell off his bike and the bike traveled roughly 40 feet before stopping, police said.

Police said the motorcyclist was taken to University Hospital with both a shoulder injury and road rash.

The driver of the car was not hurt.
