Incident occurred just before 11 p.m Sunday in 400 block of San Pedro Ave

SAN ANTONIO – A driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into both a pole and a fire hydrant overnight, San Antonio police said Monday.

The incident occurred just before 11 p.m Sunday in the 400 block of San Pedro Avenue near West Laurel Street on the city's North Side.

Police said the driver was traveling southbound on San Pedro when they lost control and hit a curb before eventually cutting a pole in half and then hitting the fire hydrant.

Police said the driver has multiple outstanding warrants and was treated by emergency crews at the scene.

Early-morning traffic in the area will be affected as the pole gets repaired, police said.
