SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was taken to area hospital following a crash with a sedan overnight, San Antonio police said Monday.

The accident was reported just after midnight at the intersection of NW 24th Street and West Poplar, which is located not far from from West Commerce Street on the city's West Side.

According to police, the driver of a red Ford Fusion was traveling northbound in the 1200 block and was making a left-hand turn when the motorcyclist slammed into the front of the vehicle.

Both drivers had a steady green light when the accident occurred, police said. The driver of the Fusion said she didn't initially see the motorcycle and only saw a dimly lit light as she was turning -- but it was too late to avoid the crash.
