SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have found a pickup truck involved in a deadly West Side crash but they’re still looking for its driver.

The crash happened just after 3 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Bandera Road.

Officers said a 34-year-old man was pushing a shopping cart loaded with metal items for recycling across the street.

They said he was having trouble pushing it up onto the sidewalk and was standing in the street when the pickup truck struck him.

The truck kept going another two blocks before finally coming to a stop in the parking lot of a Speedy Cash located in the 900 block of Bandera.

The driver abandoned it and ran away.

Later police spent some time going through the truck which had obvious damage to its front end. They also collected evidence at the scene of the crash.

Police however did not find the driver right away.
