Incident occurred just before midnight on West Ave near Santa Barbara

SAN ANTONIO – One man is in the hospital and another has been detained following a possible street racing crash on the city's North Side, San Antonio police said Thursday.

The incident was reported around 11:45 p.m. on West Avenue near Santa Barbara, not far from Interstate 10 and Babcock Road.

According to police, two men in their 30s were likely racing their motorcycles when one of the motorcyclists clipped the other. That's when, police say, both motorcyclists crashed their bikes.

One of the men was taken to University Hospital for his injuries. His current condition is not known. The other motorcyclist was taken in for questioning by police.

Officers at the scene did not say if either man was intoxicated or if any charges will be filed. No one else was hurt.
