Woman crashes sedan into back of stopped 18-wheeler, police say

Incident occurred just after 3 a.m. on Loop 410 near Vance Jackson Rd

SAN ANTONIO – A 24-year-old woman was taken to an area hospital after she crashed her car into the back of a stopped 18-wheeler overnight, San Antonio police said Tuesday.

The incident was reported just after 3 a.m. on Loop 410 near Vance Jackson Road.

According to police, the woman drove directly into the back of an 18-wheeler that had pulled over onto the side of the highway. 

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the white sedan to rescue the driver, police said. 

The woman was taken to University Hospital for her injuries. Police said she will be assessed for a DWI at the hospital. Her name has not been released.
