Woman struck by car while crossing Northwest Side street, police say

Incident occurred on Fredericksburg Rd near Vance Jackson Rd

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a driver that hit a woman who was crossing a Northwest Side street early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred just after 3:30 a.m. on Fredericksburg Road near Vance Jackson Road.

According to police, the 32-year-old woman was crossing in the middle of the street when she was struck by the vehicle. 

Police say the driver of the dark colored sedan drove off following the collision. Witnesses say the car was seen driving on Fredericksburg Road toward Interstate 10.

The woman hit was transported to University Hospital with a broken left ankle.

The driver of the vehicle, if located, will face charges of failure to stop and render aid, police said.
