Barry Perez, executive director of communications with NISD, said the child nutrition employee at Carlos Coon Elementary was in her personal vehicle when she lost control and struck part of the exterior section of the building, causing minor damage.

The incident did not disrupt the campus' daily routine, Perez said.

The employee was transported with minor, non-life-threatening injuries to an area hospital. No one else was hurt.

At this time, it is unclear why the driver lost control. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
