Pedestrian hit by several cars, killed on South Side highway

Only 1 driver stopped after crash, police say

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are trying to track down at least two drivers involved in a deadly crash on a South Side highway.

They believe the man, who was a pedestrian walking along I-37 near Fair Avenue, was hit by at least three cars around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

One driver did stop immediately after the crash and called for help.

Still, the man died of his injuries.

The other cars involved kept going, police said.

When and if accident investigators track down the other drivers, they could face criminal charges for leaving the scene of the crash.

It’s unclear if the driver who did stop will be charged with anything.
