28-year-old woman killed in vehicle crash in New Braunfels, police say

Police: Liliana Fraire died after crashing near FM 725, Southbank Blvd

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A 28-year-old woman was killed after she crashed her pickup truck into the pole of a traffic light at an intersection in New Braunfels, the New Braunfels Police Department said Monday.

The accident was reported just before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of FM 725 and Southbank Boulevard.

According to police, Liliana Fraire was traveling southbound on FM 725 approaching Southbank Boulevard when she attempted to stop suddenly due to a changing light.

Fraire lost control of the pickup and it struck the metal pole of the traffic light on the driver's side door, police said.

Emergency crews responded but she was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police said the incident is still under investigation.
