Crash shuts down Loop 410, WW White Road

18-wheeler clips big rig, crashes into guardrail

SAN ANTONIO – A crash involving an 18-wheeler early Monday afternoon forced the closure of the southbound lanes of Loop 410 at W.W. White Road.

Police said around 12:05 p.m., some sort of construction material fell off a pickup truck traveling on Loop 410.

Two 18-wheelers avoided the object, but the second big rig clipped the other vehicle and crashed into a guardrail, police said.

The driver of the second 18-wheeler suffered a minor leg injury, but was taken to Mission Trails Hospital as a precaution, police said.

The road was expected to reopen around 1:30 p.m., police said.
