Motorcyclist killed in crash on SE Side

Fatality reported around 7 a.m. in 3000 block of East Southcross

SAN ANTONIO – A man was killed Friday in a motorcycle crash on the city's Southeast Side.

The fatality was reported around 7 a.m. in the 3000 block of East Southcross.

The motorcyclist lost control on a curve and hit a curb before being thrown off the bike and into a tree, said San Antonio police Sgt. John Zuniga.

The victim died at the scene, Zuniga said.

Johnny Alonzo, who lives in the neighborhood, said the street is a dangerous spot for motorists.

A driver was killed in February 2016, after he hit the same tree.

"They always come through here real fast, but they don't take the curves into consideration," Alonzo said.
