Motorcyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run crash on Highway 90

Pickup sideswipes motorcycle, takes off, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Friday morning on the city's West Side.

Police said the motorcyclist was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic around 8 a.m. when a pickup changing lanes sideswiped the bike in the eastbound lanes of the 5000 block of Highway 90 West near Callaghan Road.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for the driver of the pickup, who didn't stop to help, police said.

Traffic on the highway was being diverted to an access road.

The highway was reopened around 9:45 a.m.
