Pedestrian walking on sidewalk hospitalized after being hit by vehicle

Incident occurred in 4000 block of Rittiman Rd near Queens Castle

SAN ANTONIO – A pedestrian walking on the sidewalk was hospitalized with two broken bones and a dislocated shoulder after being hit by a vehicle overnight, San Antonio police said Friday.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. in the 4000 block of Rittiman Road near Queens Castle on the city's Northeast Side.

According to police, the driver was heading west on Rittiman Road when he veered and then hit the victim as he walked on the sidewalk.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for his injuries.

The driver was arrested for outstanding warrants and was tested for a DWI, police said.
