Teen hospitalized, woman detained after North Side hit-and-run, police say

Incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday near Blanco Rd, Parliament

SAN ANTONIO – A teenager was taken to an area hospital and another person has been detained following a vehicle accident on the city's North Side late Sunday night.

The incident was reported just before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Blanco Road and Parliament.

According to police, Guillermina D. Graniel, 50, was driving a sedan and allegedly ran a red light and hit the teenager and another vehicle.

Graniel then tried to flee the scene before being caught behind a nearby restaurant, police said.

Two other drivers stopped to render aid to the hurt teenager. He was taken University Hospital to be checked out.

Graniel is charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of failing to stop and render aid. The investigation is ongoing.
