Passenger killed in Southwest Side wreck, police catch runaway driver

Crash occurred near intersection of Somerset Road, SW Military Drive

SAN ANTONIO – A man was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle crash on San Antonio’s Southwest Side.

Police said the man who died was a passenger in the car.

Witnesses reported the driver was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before the wreck, police said.

The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest Military Drive and Somerset Road.

The driver, in his 40s, got out of the mangled car and ran, but police captured him a short time later.

No word if the driver will face any charges.
