Train collides with empty sedan stuck on tracks, police say

Incident occurred just before 4 a.m. near Quintana Road, SW Loop 410

SAN ANTONIO – A train collided with an empty sedan stuck on the train tracks overnight, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. near Quintana Road and SW Loop 410 on the city's Southwest Side.

According to police, no one was in the car when it got struck by the train. They said it appears like the driver came off Loop 410 going too fast, went straight onto the tracks and got stuck.

The driver abandoned the car, police said. The train then came along and hit it. It took more than an hour to get the car out of the tracks.
