SAN ANTONIO – A woman was hit and killed by a car while attempting to cross a Northwest Side street, San Antonio police said Tuesday.
The accident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bandera Road and Eckhert Road.
Police said the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. The driver stopped following the accident and told police he did not see the woman.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police the accident was unavoidable.
Police said the driver of the vehicle will not be charged.
