Teachers union upset with SAISD plans to allow more students on campus

The San Antonio Alliance of Teachers is opposing a move by the San Antonio Independent School District to increase the number of students in the classroom. SAISD Superintendent Pedro Martinez said the district is concerned about a decline in student performance due to remote learning and needs a plan to help struggling students. But the union said the district needs to put the health and safety of students and staff first.
