The San Antonio Philharmonic Board of Directors bought the former San Antonio Symphony's assets, including musical instruments, archives, recordings and a music library. The Symphony Society of San Antonio declared bankruptcy in June. Musicians from the society decided to rebuild to keep classical music alive in San Antonio, and other musicians from across the U.S. are helping them with that effort. Several groups, including donations from musicians across the country, helped purchase the music library and other assets being held at the Tobin Center.
