Light freezing rain hits Hill Country; SA avoids wintry mix

Cold temperatures to stay in area until Tuesday afternoon

Light rain and mixed precipitation continued to fall in parts of the Hill Country early Tuesday, but the San Antonio appears to have avoided this latest round of winter weather.

KSAT Weather Authority Mike Osterhage says the winter weather advisory was reconfigured early Tuesday and counties to the southwest, including Bexar County, have been dropped. Mike expects cloudy skies the rest of the day Tuesday with a high of 49 in San Antonio.

In parts of the Hill Country, the National Weather Service said there was chance of freezing rain and sleet before 8 a.m., then a chance of rain until noon.

Some thunder was also possible. A winter storm warning and winter weather advisory expires at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
