Rain chances increase, temperatures decrease for early part of week

'Heat high' moving west

SAN ANTONIO – After weeks of dry and hot conditions in San Antonio, the forecast for the beginning of the week calls for a decent chance of rain across South Texas.

The summer high, common across Texas during the summer months will move west over the Four Corner region. That will allow disturbances to the east to move into the area.

In addition to the increased chances of rain, temperatures should also remain in the low to mid-90s for highs, down from the near triple-digit heat sweltering the area in recent weeks.

Though July 23, San Antonio International Airport has picked up 0.01 inch of rain. That is more than 2 inches below normal. The high temperatures have climbed to 98 degrees or better 16 days out of the month.

Rain chances in San Antonio remain about 40 percent on Tuesday.
