Website displaying realtime flooding information unveiled

Bexarflood.org gathers data from 185 monitored low-water crossings

SAN ANTONIO – Officials on Tuesday unveiled a new website that helps residents avoid low-water crossings during major rain events.

Bexarflood.org gathers data from 185 monitored low-water crossings across Bexar County, including 53 inside the city limits, and displays real-time flooding information.

The website is an expansion of the county's High Water Alert Lifesaving Technology, or HALT program, and is a partnership between the county, the San Antonio River Authority and the city of San Antonio.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff said there are 92 new HALT sites in the county.

HALF is funded through the Bexar County Flood Control Program as part of a 10-year, $500 million regional program.
