Cloudy, damp days ahead

Temperatures will be cooler through first half of weekend, then warm up

SAN ANTONIO – Clouds have overtaken the San Antonio region Thursday afternoon as a cold front moved through the area in the early morning hours. That resulted in afternoon highs only reaching the upper 50s to lower 60s, a far 20 degrees cooler than yesterday's high of 81.

The clouds will stay in place Thursday night, and it will be noticeably cooler with overnight lows in the lower 40s.

Friday and into the weekend, we'll have mostly cloudy to overcast skies in place, with spotty sprinkles and drizzle.  It will definitely not be a washout any day, but there may be some times when an umbrella may come in handy.

Look for afternoon highs only to reach the lower 50s on Friday afternoon and gradually warming back up into the 60s and 70s by Saturday and into Sunday afternoon.

If you're looking for the warmer temperatures, they will occur next Tuesday when the sunshine returns and afternoon highs will launch into the lower 80s.
