Rain chances will be highest near the coast this Labor Day weekend

A change in our weather pattern will begin to take shape over the next few days. That'll leave us with a mostly rain-free forecast this holiday weekend.

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: If you've got a high school football game to attend Friday, it'll be very warm around kickoff. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s at 7 p.m., though humidity will be on the lower side. That'll keep it from feeling overbearingly muggy! There will also be a nice breeze out of the southeast.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear Friday night, with low temperatures falling to the mid-70s. By daybreak Saturday, skies will be partly cloudy.

SATURDAY: After a humid start Saturday morning, it will be hot in the afternoon. High temperatures will be back in the upper-90s Saturday afternoon. While there will be some puffy clouds in the sky, there will be plenty of sunshine. The afternoon hours will also feature a chance for some showers closer to the coast. San Antonio will likely miss out on any rain.

SATURDAY NIGHT: It will be humid again Saturday night. Low temperatures will be back in the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies.

SUNDAY: Sunday will be very similar to Saturday. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with afternoon high temperatures in the upper-90s. Rain chances will once again favor the Coastal Bend and areas east of San Antonio, as some afternoon thundershowers develop.

LABOR DAY: Morning temperatures will be in the upper-70s on Monday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies. By the afternoon hours, temperatures will climb into the mid-90s, with a mix of sun and clouds. While most will stay dry again on Monday, there will be a slightly better chance for some isolated showers to make it to San Antonio. Any showers that do get going in the afternoon will be come and go, so there's no need to cancel or alter your outdoor plans. Coverage of showers will only be at 20%.

While there's no widespread rainfall in the extended forecast, isolated rain chances do hang on through the latter part of next week. Passing downpours will be possible each afternoon.
