Chance of storms looms over Fiesta Flambeau Parade

Parade is largest illuminated parade in U.S.

SAN ANTONIO – Storms are in the forecast for Saturday night, and they might affect the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, KSAT 12 meteorologist Adam Caskey said.

"I hope they hold off, but I want you to be prepared," Adam said.

He said the best chances for storms will be around 9 or 10 p.m. in San Antonio.

Some of the storms may become severe, with straight-line winds and large hail being the primary threats, Adam said.

The parade, which is considered to be the largest illuminated parade in the U.S., historically attracts hundreds of thousands of watchers.

The grand marshal of the parade will be Jimmy Kimmel’s "Live" sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez.

Fiesta Events for Sunday

Our live coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with an "SA Live" Flambeau Special hosted by Mike Osterhage and Fiona Gorostiza.

KSAT 12 News anchors Steve Spriester and Ursula Pari will host the Flambeau Parade beginning at 7:30 p.m. followed by the KSAT 12 News Nightbeat at 10:30 p.m.
